Tested and Approved

Every VHS tape has been tested for quality.  We have popped it in a VCR and watched the first few minutes to make sure that there are no uncontrollable tracking issues, unwanted noises, blips, shakes or flipper floppers.  We do not watch each tape all the way to the end because....well that would take forever!  

Every audio cassette tape has been inspected and played.  When a cassette tape is purchased we will check it one more time for quality before we ship it. It will come in a functioning case that looks good and, whenever possible, it's original case.

All VHS and cassette tapes are mold free.

VHS and audio tapes are not perfect.  If they were they would be called DVDs and CDs and there is nothing cool about those.  Even under the best of storage conditions, tape quality degrades over time. Many of the tapes we are selling are 30+ years old and they still look/sound great (or we wouldn't be selling them to you).

Anyone who watches a lot of VHS movies knows that the quality of your VCR is very important.  We prefer VCRs that have manual tracking capabilities.  Many times over the years we have had tapes that didn't play well - then we pop them into a different VCR and they play just fine.  More often than not, issues with tapes are with the player and not the tape itself.  So make sure that your VCRs and Cassette players are in excellent working and clean condition....and, if you are like us, keep backup players on the ready.

Shipping

All tapes will be wrapped in bubble wrap and mailed in a rigid cardboard box.  

We will strive to get items boxed up and shipped out within 24 hours.  We mail USPS media mail so it should take 4-7 days to receive your purchase.  If you need something quicker than that email us to discuss prior to purchasing.

We only ship within the continental United States.  We ship from Ohio.

We charge flat rates for shipping.  The rates are listed on the bottom of the Home Page.

Returns

Please inspect your purchase upon receiving and contact us immediately if the item is defective, broken or incorrect so that we can make it right as soon as possible.

In the event that you are not happy with the quality of the video or cassette you purchased please email us at playbacktapes@gmail.com and let us know.  We will send you instructions for mailing the product back to us and, upon receival, we will issue you a refund.
